
Today's run was pretty good. Although, it was not the distance I was going for. I started at home since it was raining outside. But it got a bit too hot for me and the smell from Joyce's cooking was making me really hungry. I almost stopped my run and call it quits, so after mile 3, I decided to hit the road and do at least a quick 4 mile run. By the time I got to the park (which is mile 2) I decided to add another mile and make it a 6 miler. By the time I got to mile 3, I felt great and wanted to add another mile to make an 8 miler for a total of 11 miles for the day. However, the rain and strong winds knocked down several trees on both trails, the one to City Island and the one towards New Rochelle. I was only able to get to 3.15 miles before hitting a wall of trees blocking the path.
Lack of food was the cause of my slow pace on this run, but I think I did pretty good, even though I had no breakfast. The splits are as follows.

When I began to run at home, I was wearing shorts and a Puma shirt.. When I got ready to go outside, I threw on a long sleeve shirt on top of the one I already had, and went out. Bad choice.. it was barely 40 degrees and windy. The shirt I had under was already socked with sweat, so when I went out the wind made it even colder. I forgot to being my gloves too, so my hands were very cold.. it took me a while to warm up, but once I did the run was great.
